Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Friday revealed he paid a visit to lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi.
Mr Farotimi recently returned from a correctional facility in Ekiti State.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, expressed admiration for Farotimi in a post on X.
The politician noted that Farotimi remains in high spirits despite his ordeal and described him as a symbol of courage in the face of adversity.
“Since his return from the correctional center in Ekiti, I have not had the opportunity to meet with him. I was pleased to find him in good spirits and deeply encouraged by his unwavering dedication to the struggle for a better Nigeria.
“Dele Farotimi exemplifies courage in the face of adversity, consistently taking bold stands for good governance in our nation,” Obi wrote.

Obi also wished Farotimi a fruitful and productive year as they continued their shared pursuit of national development.
The former governor visited the lawyer while he was being held at the correctional facility in Ekiti.
Farotimi was arrested in Lagos on December 3 by officers of the Ekiti State Police Command and driven by road to Ekiti.
The arrest was linked to allegations of defamation and cyberbullying brought against him by renowned legal icon and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Afe Babalola.
Babalola alleged that Farotimi defamed him in a 116-page book titled Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
