Obi, at various stops, assured the people that a new Nigeria is possible as he urged the people not to be deterred but to come out en masse on March 11, 2023, and cast their votes for the Labour Party’s candidates all the way.

Due to the gruesome murder of Chukwu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) invoked some powers invested in it and shifted the Senatorial Election for Enugu East that was scheduled for February 25 to March 11, 2023, along with the gubernatorial and State Assembly polls.

Obi arrived in Enugu Friday morning and moved straight to Enugu East to give respect and honour to the deceased and to give solidarity to the very vibrant Obidient family in Enugu whose performance at the last election was outstanding.
