Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has refused to discuss issues relating to  outstanding salaries and bonuses for him and his players, insisting that he is focused on a winning start at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON).

Peseiro’s men head to the Equatorial Guinea clash after losing their last friendly tie against Guinea.

Meanwhile, West African nation, Côte d’Ivoire began their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations’ campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over less fancied Guinea Bissau.

The tournament host began the match the brighter of the two sides and were duly rewarded as early as the 4th minute when Seko Fofana finished off an assist from his captain, Franck Kessie.

They doubled their advantage in the 58th minute when Jean-Philippe Krasso finished off a well crafted effort.

Despite the late rally by the Guinea Bissau players, the Elephants held on to win the encounter 2-0.

With the win, Cote d’Ivoire top Group A, ahead of Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea’s encounter on Sunday afternoon.
