Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has asked fans to give goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho a break after he parried into his own net to give Saudi Arabia goal advantage in their 2-2 draw against the three times African Champions.

The friendly played at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao, Portugal on Friday night, was part of the Super Eagles build up to the African Cup of Nations in January.

The Super Eagles equalised through an own goal, and Kelechi Iheanacho, put them ahead in the second half before the Saudis leveled up deep in injury time to tie up the game.

But Peseiro said: “I like our players, when they make mistakes it is my responsibility. The goalkeepers never play free or calm because of the people. I don’t know why they attack the goalkeepers every time. Why don’t they attack the strikers when they lose the ball or miss a goal, why? They could make mistakes, it is my responsibility. Next time I need to train him (Uzoho) better.”
