Pero Adeniyi sues Annie Idibia for libel, demands apology

Pero Adeniyi, baby mama to Nigerian singer, Tuface, has demanded the sum of N500m from his wife, Annie for false accusation

Tuface’s baby mama, Pero Adeniyi has instructed her lawyers to demand the sum N500m and a public apology from the musician’s wife Annie, over alleged defamation of character.

Annie in September took to social media to call out her husband for alleged infidelity involving his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi. 

The matter later escalated, leading to allegations and counter allegations between Annie Idibia, and her husband’s family. 

Tuface remained quiet all through the saga but his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi, took to social media to debunk the allegation and told her side of the story.

She has now gone a step further, to ask her lawyers to write Annie and demand for a public apology and the sum of N500m for falsely accusing her of infidelity with her husband.

The letter, which was signed by her lawyers, Okonjo, Odiawa, and Ebie Associates and titled ‘Re: Malicious and Libelous Online Publication against Pero Adeniyi ‘  demanded an apology within 72 hours from Annie. 

It also asked for monetary compensation for their client who will proceed to court to enforce her right, if she doesn’t comply with her demands.  

“It is our instruction to demand that you immediately and completely retract all your allegations by the same measure with which they were published and publicly tender your unreserved apology to our client, not later than 72 hours from your receipt of this letter,” the letter partly read.

It continued, “Additionally, our client demands compensation in the sum of N500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million Naira) for personal injury, reputational damage, embarrassment, shame, and emotional distress suffered as a result of your malicious, libelous and defamatory publications against her, within the same period stipulated above.

“Take notice that if you do not comply with our client’s demands as stated above, we will have no other option but to bring the full weight of the law to bear upon you without further recourse to you.” the letter read

Meanwhile, Annie Idibia penned an emotional and moving apology to her husband,over the marital issues of the past couple of months on her 37th birthday.

She also apologised to her mother and mother-in-law for causing them pain, saying she said the things she said in a feat of anger and didn’t mean them.
