MC G2B, a silent comedian and new kid on the entertainment block, loves to make people laugh. In fact, that is how his career in entertainment started in the first place when everywhere he went people encouraged him to go into comedy.
He said he started off while in secondary school, leading the dancers and drama group. “In my compound, in different places, I make people laugh. So they told me that I have the talent. They encouraged me to push it up and build up the talent,” he said.
Entertainers have gifts to make people happy. Paul Sani, fondly called MC G2B, has more. He is a comedian, singer, compere, dancer and magician. And does all, not racking his brain for the next performance.
TheNiche spotted him at a recent concert in Ikeja, Lagos, where he delighted the crowd with several dancing steps, jokes, magic and songs.
MC G2B is also an actor. “I have been in some comedy movies like Dada Family, Mountain of Fire, Who wants to be a Millionaire and many others,” he said.
Making people happy with his talent, he admitted, is more important to him than making money from it.
“As an up-and-coming act, there is one thing I believe in. I lost my dad in 2003. He encouraged me in one thing; that I should build up myself first. That it is not all about money.
“If you are after money, you lose connection. But when you meet people, you develop connection and the money will come,” he said.
He also talks about how he maintains professional relationship with his clients. “If I have event, I will meet the person that invited me. After explaining to me what he or she wants, I will write it down, memorise some things, add some things; when I get there, I will know what to say. They also tell me things they don’t want which they consider, perhaps, as expensive jokes.”
He spoke of his mentors. “In music, I love my own star, Oritsa Femi. I also love Olamide and 2face. In comedy, I have met different comedians. I don’t copy somebody’s joke,” he added.
