Paul Scholes asserted that though Ndidi missed the last two months due to injury, he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the game

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has advised The Red Devils’ new gaffer, Erik ten Hag to bring Super Eagles central midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag had suggested that the midfield is his major priority as the club strengthens this summer and rebuilds ahead of the next Premier League (PL) season.
Although several reports have linked Man United to Barcelona’s midfielder Frenkie De Jong, the Dutch international has expressed the desire to remain with the La Liga giant.

Paul Scholes while talking to Football Daily YouTube channel, suggested that Erik ten Hag should make a move for Leicester City’s defensive midfielder Ndidi, given De Jong’s stance on his future.
He said, “Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi still very much fits the bill of what Manchester United are looking for. With just two years remaining on his contract at Leicester, it is likely to cost significantly less than the eye-watering sums associated with him in summer past.
“And while he missed the last two months of the season with a knee injury, he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the game when fit, averaging an astounding 6.5 tackles and interceptions each match and ranking in the top seven per cent of midfielders for aeripercent, too,”
Ndidi, who moved to Leicester City from Belgian club KRC Genk in 2017 was ruled out for the rest of the season after he sustained a knee injury in March during a Europa Conference match.
