Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has advised Manchester United to do whatever it takes to bring Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane to Old Trafford.

According to him, if they are able to add the £100million rated striker to the existing players, they will begin to win titles again.

Merson described Kane, 29, as the world’s best striker, adding that the England international can play until he is 37.

He added that the striker is unlikely to win trophies if he stays at Spurs and that joining Man United will benefit both the club and the player.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “Is Harry Kane going to go for individual records, or is he going to go for medals? I don’t see him winning anything at Tottenham.

“Tottenham have been good to Kane at the same time as Kane’s been good to Tottenham. He has kids, he is married – he has got to play where he is happy. Would you want to change all that?

“He is the best center-forward in the world. If I am Manchester United, I will spend £100m on Kane tomorrow. They just paid £80m for Antony and he won’t score as many goals in ten years as Kane would score in a season for Man Utd.

“Kane can play until he is 37 because he doesn’t have to have pace – his game is not about pace. He has got the brain, he can come short, find the passes and score the goals. He has everything.”

He went on to say United need a player like Kane to win the title, saying it was evident in their game against Arsenal on Sunday that they need a pocher.

“If Man Utd want to be anywhere near winning a title, they need Kane. Seeing them against Arsenal, they are still a long way off still.

“Kane to Chelsea? That can’t happen. If he comes to Chelsea, he loses his legacy at Tottenham.” Merson added
