One of Africa’s rising artists, poised to elevate Afrobeats on the global stage, Paschal Ebube Chukwu, popularly known as Paskal Pea has described his performance at the Niger Delta Games Cultural Expo as one that will be remembered for generations.
Paskal Pea, whose growth in Afrobeats has been nothing short of phenomenal, said being invited to showcase his talent at one of Africa’s biggest regional-national events was a dream come true.
The Enugu State-born, award-winning artist expressed heartfelt appreciation for the hard work and selfless dedication shown by the organizers of the event, which fused sports, culture and music.
Paskal Pea, who was making his second visit to Benin City after completing his youth service there in 2024, was received with pomp as the crowd joined in to make it a night to remember.
“It’s been great. I served here in Benin in 2024 in Ikpoba, it’s been a great place for me with great experiences. Coming back here to Benin feels good,” he said. “It’s a great event, a great program—it brings together people from different states. It’s an opportunity for people to connect.”
The 24-year-old artist said that anytime he picks up the microphone, his primary goal is to connect with the hearts of his audience, listeners and fans—a connection he believes will endear him to them.
He also shared his thoughts on the cultural displays at the historic event, noting that Edo will always hold a special place in his heart.
“Watching the cultural displays, the Edo culture attracted me the most. I’ve always had this love and respect for Benin culture—their culture is unique. I’ve seen Yoruba, I’ve seen Calabar, but Benin stands out for me,” he explained.
Paskal Pea added that his big dream is to create a name that resonates across the continent and the world.
“My big dream is O2 Arena, sold out. I want to be a big name in Afrobeats. I want to go global—not just Africa but the world. I want to be heard. I know it will be hard, but step by step, I’ll climb the ladder to the very top,” he concluded.
