“Pack your load and go”, one guy wasted 12 years of my life, she says

BBNaija alumna Phyna (real name Josephina Otabor) has counselled fellow ladies to quit a relationship if the man is still playing games after three years of courtship, disclosing a particular guy wasted 12 years of her life.
Phyna, now a reality TV star and Nollywoodian – who speaks her mind raw to “catch cruise” but instead attracts trolls and controversy – insisted three years is enough time to determine if a relationship is not showing any sign of marriage and not deserving of further investment of resources.
“If you date a guy, at most 3 years and he is still not considering marrying you, walk out of the relationship,” she said in the latest episode of her podcast, Spill With Phyna.
“This issues of men wasting women’s time in relationships without the intention of marrying them is predominant in Edo State. In Edo State you will see people that have been together for 10 years with no plan of marriage. I did 12 years.
“The men have no plan of marrying you but they will be feigning romantic gestures to deceive you.”
“Anything more than 3 years of dating and the guy is not showing signs of wanting to get married, pack your load and go.”
Phyna spoke up as more Nigerian celebrities are finding love and marriage in foreign women from across Africa and beyond.
Nigerian Gospel singers and other popular men who have married foreign women in the past two years alone include:
- Moses Bliss. In January 2024 married Marie Wiseborn, a Ghanaian woman he met after she tagged him on Instagram in January 2023 in a video of her dancing to his popular song, Miracle no Dey tire Jesus.
- Theophilus Sunday. Recently announced his engagement to his Jamaican fiancée Ashlee White – but there are reports they already got married in February 2024, with pictures as proof.
- Tim Godfrey. In 2022 married Erica, an American.
