Music artiste, Selense Oyoko, has signed a five-year label contract beginning with the new video titled; Kubaka with On-On Record Limited.
Oyoko who expressed delight over the development said it is a historic development that would transform his music career.
According to him, I “felt delighted that beginning with the new video, I would be working with a new organisation in promoting my music.”
The Imo State born rap artiste known as Chukwuebuka Odini described music as God given.
“Nobody taught me how to sing, I saw myself in the industry because it was deposited in me naturally,” he said.
Oyoko, 24 years old, started singing at the age of 12.
Reacting to the new agreement, the director, On-On Records Limited, Justin Edet said Oyoko is a talented artiste whose new video, Kubaka in Igbo meaning keep clapping, would appeal to a lot of Nigerians especially the younger generation.
He stressed that with Oyoko as a new artiste on their label, his outfit would ensure that he succeeds.
He said music has the potential of moving the country from its present position if given the maximum support needed.
According to him several artistes like P square and Wiz-kid among others have performed outside the shore of Nigeria and that has improved the image of the country greatly.
Edet, who said he has worked with several artistes in the country stressed that what keeps an artiste in the profession is passion and not necessarily the material benefit.
“Many artistes started with late Fela Anikulapo Kuti as at that time, but not many of them were known because they came in not because of the passion they had for the profession and therefore abandoned it when they encountered challenges,” he said.
