Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the cultural and economic bond between Oyo State and Republic of Benin is further strengthened.
He restated this commitment when the royal fathers from the State and their counterpart from the Republic of Benin paid him a visit.
In his twitter handle, Governor Seyi Makinde wrote:
“Today, our royal father, HIM, Alaiyeluwa Làmídì Oláyíwolá Àtàndá Adéyemí III, the Alaafin of Oyo, visited us with HIM, Oba Adejumo Aderomola Adedunloye Akanni (Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom) and HRM, Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite Ilufemiloye (Onimeko of Imekoland) from the Rep of Benin.
“Foremost Nigerian Historian, Emeritus Prof Chief Anthony Ijaola Asiwaju (MFR) Fimojoye of Ketu, Balogun of Imeko, Asiwaju of Yewaland was also a part of the entourage. I restated my commitment to strengthening the cultural and economic ties between us and our Beninese neighbours.
“I also said we would collaborate to address the security challenges in the border region”.
