Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has congratulated Gboyega Oyetola on his victory at the election petitions tribunal, declaring it as victory of light over darkness.
A three-man election tribunal chaired by Justice Tertsea Kume on Friday in Osogbo ruled that Oyetola is the duly elected governor of Osun.
Kume, in his ruling, said there was over-voting in six local government areas of the state, adding that Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 while Adeleke got 219,666 votes.
Tinubu, however, said in a message signed by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, that Oyetola’s victory was deserved, noting also that it is a triumph of courage and perseverance.
“I heartily rejoice with Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola on his much-deserved victory at the election tribunal today,” he said.
