Goals from Bature Yaro and Gbolahan Salami gave the Eagles a 2-0 victory in the first leg played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt upper Saturday.

The side, coached by Sunday Oliseh, should be in best form as it attempts to record a double against the fellow West Africans who will not go down without a fight.

A favourable result in Ouagadougou will book Nigeria a ticket to Rwanda to make a second appearance at the biennial football showpiece.

The Super Eagles finished third in their debut appearance in South Africa with Ejike Uzoenyi winning the Best Player Award.

Stand-in captain, Gbolahan Salami, who scored one of the two goals in the first leg in Port Harcourt has assured that the team will not let fans down in this crucial final round.

“Our image is at stake. We have to prove to all and sundry that the result of the first leg in Port Harcourt was not a fluke.

“We need to double our efforts and get the qualification ticket for Rwanda. More importantly, we need to prove that our league is one of the best if not the best on the continent,” he said.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) received correspondence from the FBF last Monday on the change in date of the tie. It immediately protested that the change came less than the 10 days stipulated in the rules.

NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, said a complaint was lodged with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) that the change in date that came only five days to the match.

The team is scheduled to depart Ouagadougou immediately after the game.
