Our Govs will respond to you, PDP assures Wike; says nobody is above the party

Two days after the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, threatened to put fire in states governed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if their governors interfere in Rivers State, the national leadership of the party said on Monday that the governors will respond in due time.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this at a press briefing in Abuja, warning that nobody is above the party.
TheNiche reported on Saturday that Wike accused PDP governors of allegedly trying to hand over the party structure to Governor Siminalayi Fubara warning that if they interfere in the affairs of the party in Rivers, he has the capacity to cause crises in their states.
“Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give back to somebody, I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.

“When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take,” Wike said at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday during the party’s state congress.
The minister, who singled out Bauchi governor, Bala Mohammed, promised sleepless nights to governors who leave their states to challenge him in Rivers State.
“Because I heard they got some money from signature bonus and so their heads are getting big that you will put hand in my own state. Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state.
“Whether you are from Bauchi I don’t give a damn, whichever state you are from, as far as I know that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt and you will never sleep in your state,” he said.
However on Monday, the party spokesman said the PDP Governors Forum (PDP GF) remains one of the most potent organs of the party and would respond to the minister’s threat.
According to him, the PDP has implicit confidence in the ability of the forum to continue to stabilize the party as well as being the reference point of development in the country.
