Otti visits families of slain police officers, vows to find killers
By Jeffrey Agbo
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has paid a visit to the families of two police officers shot dead by gunmen in the state on Friday.
The two policemen, Inspector Augustine Ogbudu from Cross River State and Superintendent Eziekel Sunday from Kebbi State, were killed at Opobo Junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba.
Two other police officers were wounded while a 14-year-old boy was killed during the attack.
Otti told journalists during his visit to the bereaved families on Saturday that his administration would ensure the attackers are brought to book.

“We thought that with all that we have done, including rounding up some of the people that were involved in that last attack that this would not happen again. We have decided to change our strategy. We do not want to speculate but like you (journalist) rightly asked, it is reasonable to suspect that the enemies of the state, particularly those who don’t seem to see anything good or want any good thing for Abia people may be somehow connected to this.
“That is a suspicion. We are not going to let this go away without identifying and bringing to book all those who are directly or remotely involved,” the governor said.
Otti said he believed that by the time investigations are concluded, his administration would know where the attacks came from, and would not succumb to any blackmail.
