Those working in government offices will get an extra ₦10,000, while corps members posted to schools and hospitals will receive an extra ₦30,000.

This means that some NYSC members could now earn up to ₦127,000 per month, depending on where they serve. The state allowance was previously ₦4,000, making this a 1,150 percent increase.

Governor Otti said the new payment system will encourage young people serving in the state and help fill the shortage of teachers and health workers in rural areas.

The Abia government has also renovated the NYSC orientation camp at Umunna in Bende Local Government Area.

The upgrades include better roads, an improve in the power supply, and repairs to hostels and offices.
