Oshiomhole boasts he’ll ‘sweep’ Edo APC guber candidate, Okpebholo into office

Oshiomhole also urged residents of the state suffering from flood and whose children sit on bare floors in schools to join in ensuring APC wins

Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has vowed to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the September 21 governorship election, Monday Okpebholo becomes the next governor of the state.

He made this known over the weekend,  while inaugurating the party’s Campaign Council for the stand alone election.

According to Oshiomhole who currently represents Edo North senatorial district in the senate, he is ready to take up the role of a sweeper to ensure the APC won the governorship race.

He went on to urge residents suffering from flood and whose children sit on bare floors in schools to join in ensuring APC wins.

Speaking at the event,  Oshiomhole said: “If it requires me to take the role of a sweeper, I am ready to sweep Senator Monday Okpebholo into office as governor.

“Every member and supporter of the APC is a member of our campaign for genuine change under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo.

“Titles do not matter, every member is a canvasser, every member of our party must work hard to win their units and wards, local government and state.”

Edo State voters will file out on September 21 to cast their votes for the next governor of the state.

APC’s Monday Okpebholo, Peoples Democratic Party’s Asue Ighodalo and  Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party are the front runners in the election.
