Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has parted ways with the main opposition party.

He made his decision known in a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State.

According to him, he was stepping aside  from partisan politics to devote more time to his family and other pressing commitments.

“At this point in my life, however, I must step back from the arena of partisan politics. My duty now lies first with my family and with other responsibilities that demand my full attention,” he said.

While justifying the move, Anenih added, “This decision was not made lightly.

“From the very beginning, I have stood with the PDP through its triumphs and its trials, bound by a belief in the promise of Nigerian democracy and in the ideals that first drew me to the Umbrella.”
