“We cannot vote for a President who will continue the carnage against our people. He wants to use me as a scapegoat.
“Atiku is unfair to the people. Do you [Atiku] think Fulani will make you President? You lie. You have committed sacrilege against the Benue people.”

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom wants a “public” apology from Atiku Abubakar for allegedly lying against him and for committing “sacrilege against the Benue people” in his statement at the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in Kaduna.
He said the “private” apology the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer offered when he confronted him on WhatsApp is not good enough, and reminded him the Fulani vote alone cannot power him to Aro Rock.
Ortom narrated the encounter in Makurdi on Thursday when he addressed youths from the Jemgbagh axis who protested in solidarity with him.

Ortom denies Atiku’s allegations
Atiku drew the ire of Ortom at the forum organised by the ACF in Kaduna on 15 October where he accused Ortom of profiling Fulani and disclosed Ortom told him his people rustle Fulani cattle.
Ortom described both claims as false.
“I condemn the statement against me by Atiku. When it got to me, I chatted with him through a WhatsApp message; he apologised but declined to make a public apology,” he said per The PUNCH.
“But I am against the Fulani terrorists coming from Niger, Chad, Senegal, and Mali. He must do a retraction. If he does not, on the day of the election, we will vote according to the election.
