The freed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu resumed sitting in upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly on Tuesday (today) after about six months absence due to his conviction and sentence by Justice Mohammed Idris, later nullified by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Kalu, who still retains his seat and office as the Chief Whip of the Senate, was welcomed back by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and his co-senators.
Senator Kalu was released from Kuje prison in Abuja following an order for his immediate release on June 2 by Justice Mohammed Liman of a Federal High court Lagos Nigeria in response to his (Kalu) application seeking his release from prison.
