Oba Ogunwusi made this known via his Twitter page on Saturday after reading through the newspapers and perusing news relating to Nigeria on social media.

He wrote, “Anchoring the mantle of the Olojo Festival is the ideal fit for mending our nation’s brokenness. When we turn on the news, read the newspaper, or look at our social media feeds, we see brokenness. We are a broken people in a broken country.

“We are under broken political systems, governance, education, healthcare, security, religion, etc. Through the lenses of our existence, we don’t have to look far to see brokenness which is reflected in our interactions, sense of recognition & support for our young people.”

Ooni continued on Sunday on his microblogging platform saying “If there’s one thing I’ve learned from our forefathers, it’s that our brokenness as a nation doesn’t faze the young people. They are not deterred by cracks, difficult times, or incredible challenges.

“They look at our pieces and see it for what it can be: a masterpiece creation. Our broken shaft could become an instrument in the hands of our forefathers, displaying their perfection and ability.”
