Boavista defender, Bruno Onyemaechi is likely to join the growing list of Super Eagles players who will miss Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The left back became a major doubt for the crucial encounters after he picked up an injury during his club’s 3-1 defeat to Farense on Sunday.
He was later replaced in the 56th minute of the Portuguese league game by Filipe Ferreira.

Prior to his invitation to the World Cup qualifiers, the 24-year-old had become a regular for the Nigerian senior team.
However, his absence will pave the way for Cardiff City’s Jamilu Collins, who is the other left back remaining on the team.
Onyemaechi is not the only injury concern in the team, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Wilfred Ndidi were also left out of the squad due to injuries.
The Super Eagles will welcome Lesotho to Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Thursday, November 16, for the first game of their World Cup qualification fixtures.
Thereafter, the team will jet out to Rwanda three days later to battle Zimbabwe in Huye Stadium.
