As voting in Ondo state governorship elections ends, party faithful have resorted to the waiting game as INEC officials leaves for various collation centers.
For instance, ZLP members who voted in Ondo South expressed confidence that their candidate Agboola Ajayi will carry the day .
Realising that votes from the South alone will not determine the faith of the ZLP candidate in the race, they have resorted to a waiting game, expecting favourable results from other zones.
thenicheng.com learnt that the same could be said of supporters of APC and PDP candidates who celebrated favourable results in their Polling units and respective strongholds.
According to a veteran Journalist Godwin Etakibuebu, said the result of the election would be narrow and determined largely by the actions of the ZLP candidate.
He insisted that Agboola Ajayi may not win the election but may determine who wins in a case of a tie and run-off introduced.
Ajayi he said might play the role of a spoiler for his former boss (Akeredolu) if the election goes into a run-off. Just like what happened in Osun State in the role Senator Omisore played against PDP candidate.
Meanwhile, former governor of the state Olusegun Mimiko has given INEC credit for conducting a credible election devoid of rancour.
The ZLP chieftain noted while casting his vote in his unit that INEC should translate this to other elections ahead.
