The dust raised by #EndSARS protest has been doused as normalcy returns to Ondo State.
With the present peace situation in the state, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has announced the suspension of the 24-hour curfew earlier imposed in the wake of the protests.
In a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Donlad Ojogo, the decision to lift the curfew followed consultations between the governor and security chiefs in the state after a preliminary assessment of the situation in the state.
While giving approval for the lifting of the curfew, Akeredolu said that the decision was, mostly, encouraged by the relative peace in Akure, the state capital.
His words: “The relative peace in the state capital, Akure, appears very encouraging just as the people, especially the youths, resolved not to allow brigandage under any guise.
“It is, therefore, only normal that law-abiding residents are allowed to go about their legitimate businesses.”
He therefore reiterated the need for all to be vigilant and law-abiding.
