Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has appointed a law don from the University of Ibadan, Professor Alero Akeredolu, as a High Court Judge in the state.
With this appointment, she becomes the first female Professor of Law to be appointed as a High Court Judge in Nigeria.
Prof. Akeredolu is the publisher of a law report called “the Supreme Court Monthly ” making her once again, the first female lawyer to publish a monthly law report in the country..
She joined the University of Ibadan in 2004, rising through the ranks, to become an Associate Professor in 2015, and in 2017, became Professor of Law at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
Alero is a CEDR, UK Mediator, Fellow, Institute of Peace & Strategic Studies, Fellow, Society for Peace Studies & Practice, Fellow, Institute of Chartered & Mediators Conciliators

His Imperial Majesty Alayeluwa Oba (DR) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has expressed his happiness over the appointment of Professor Alero Akeredolu as a judge in the Ondo State Judiciary.
In a congratulatory message made available by his Special Assistant Media, Sam Adewale, Oba Ogunoye felicitated with the new judge on behalf of the entire Owo kingdom.
Kabiyesi described her as a pride of the kingdom having attained such a giant feat.
“You have worked hard to reach this hieght of your professional calling,which is the reason why the kingdom is so happy as you have been recognized for your contributions to the learned profession.
” I have no doubt, you will translate this appointment towards the development of administration of justice in Ondo State in particular and Nigeria as a whole” the highly revered monarch said.
Oba Ogunoye further wishes her success, happinness and God’s guidance in the onerous task ahead of her.
