The lingering crisis rocking Ondo state House of Assembly got to the peak on Tuesday, November 24 as the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji was impeached.
Iroju was immediately replaced by Hon. Aderoboye
TheNiche gathered that Iroju representing Odigbo constituency 2 was impeached following the House resolutions led by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun.
Investigations by TheNiche also revealed that Iroju was impeached on the ground of gross misconduct which the House said it had brought disrepute to it.
Twenty lawmakers out of 26 members of the House signed the impeachment.
Following the reconstitution of the House, Hon. Tomide Akinribido of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has been removed as the minority leader and replaced by Hon. Festus Akingbaso from PDP while Hon. Ogunmolasuyi is the new majority leader.
Hon.Taofeek Oladele is now the new Chief Whip, replacing Adeyemi Olayemi.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is expected to present the State House of Assembly the 2021 budget proposal on Friday, 27th November, 2020
