Ondo APC leaders rally behind Aiyedatiwa, as commissioner backs pro-Tinubu group, OFT

The Ondo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Ayodele Akande, has declared the Ondo for Tinubu (OFT) movement as the most credible and officially backed platform for promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Speaking at a meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in Okeagbe-Akoko, Akande said Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa had given firm support to the OFT structure, describing it as the vehicle through which the state intends to deliver a “decisive victory” for the president in the next general election.

According to Akande, mobilising grassroots support for Tinubu has become the governor’s “central political priority,” and the OFT platform is expected to be expanded across local governments, including Akoko North-West, where the meeting was convened at the governor’s instance.

Addressing party members drawn from all 10 wards of the local government, the commissioner urged APC leaders to prioritise unity and discipline within the party.

He appealed for what he described as “genuine patriotic participation” and encouraged members to fully embrace the OFT agenda to ensure that residents “continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

Akande said deeper cooperation between local leaders and the governor would help stabilise the party ahead of the 2027 polls. “Stronger alignment with OFT,” he argued, “will position the APC to deliver resounding support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

However, stakeholders at the meeting expressed relief that a unified, governor-backed pro-Tinubu structure had finally been introduced to the area. Several attendees said they had long awaited a platform that carried explicit endorsement from the state government, despite the proliferation of various Tinubu support groups.

They pledged full loyalty to Akande’s leadership in Akoko North-West and vowed to work through OFT as the “most dependable” vehicle for the 2027 campaign.

In a collective resolution, party leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting both Governor Aiyedatiwa and Akande, promising to remain steadfast in their mobilisation efforts “come rain or shine.”
