Olukoga made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.

He said that it was imperative for the state government to establish the centres across the divisions to improve the standard of education.

The former Special Adviser on Education said that the establishment of such centres would benefit private researchers, including students.

“Although the state has some research centres, they are not sufficient to accommodate users.

“Establishing additional centres will also help to improve research findings of individuals and corporate bodies.

“Doing so will boost the standard of education in the state,’’ Olukoga said.

He said that the even location of such centres in the state would be beneficial to people at the grassroots.

“People deviate from their chosen career due to the unavailability of the conducive environment needed to accomplish their profession.

“But with this kind of idea, people will be fulfilled to thoroughly implement their research findings toward successful completion of their career,’’ he said.

Olukoga advised the state government to be involved in public private partnership, for education to thrive.

He also urged parents to identify the innate talents in their children, to guide their career path.

According to him, most parents are not observant as much to discover these hidden skills, which could be beneficial to the child later in life.

“Some kids will always prefer to dance, sing and assemble objects, draw, run and more.

“Parents are advised to buy toys capable of activating their children’s talents and artistic skills.

“They should pay more attention to them as they grow older.

“A lot of people are doing very well today because they were able to identify their skills and talents early in life,’’ he said. (NAN)
