“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has left the country for China on a business trip.

The governor left from Abuja Thursday evening for United States, from where he would travel to China to meet with some key investors who had invited him for discussions on the modus operandi of investing in the state.”

He further stated that some of the investors had visited Imo State while some had already taken off like the Skyrun Corporation that will be producing electrical gadgets at the Resin Paint, Mbaise.

According to him, the governor traveled with the economic adviser and his security aides. He appealed to Imo State citizens to pray for the governor.

“When the news of Nze Umunna’s death was first broken to me I could not believe it until one of my key appointees from Oru-West where Nze Umunna comes from duly confirmed the demise of the great politician,” Okorocha stated.

The governor described Umunna as one of the finest and colourful politicians the state has produced, and noted that Umunna’s exemplary brand of politics made him to become the Secretary to the State Government during the administration of Chief Achike Udenwa as governor.

“And as the SSG, Nze Umunna added colour and glamour to that office and that eventually made him to earn the acronym of “father-father”.

Unfortunately to the political class in the state and to the people of the state in general, Nze Umunna died when his wealth of experience in both politics and administration would have been most needed,” the governor said.

He prayed God to grant the family of Nze Umunna and all those he left behind the divine courage to bear with the loss, while praying that the good Lord should give the soul of Nze Umunna eternal rest in his bosom.
