Imo State Governor, Rochas Anayo Okorocha, has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Jude Ejiogu. No reason was given for his removal from office as at the time of filing this report.
Our correspondent in Imo who has been following the power play within the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state reports that Ejiogu until his removal from office was one of the kitchen cabinet of Okorocha in the first tenure of his office.
Ejiogu was appointed Chief of Staff to Imo State governor and later succeeded Professor Anthony Awuka as SSG, who is now minister of state for Education.
It would be recalled that as at Thursday, the governor was with Ejiogu and other top government functionaries at the commissioning of Shoperite at Egbu Owerri.
It was however gathered that the sacking of SSG might not be unconnected with the governor’s disgrace at Chattan House, London where he went to deliver lecture recently.
However, some sources said that his sack might be to prepare the person that might succeed the governor in 2019, which has eluded the Owerri zone for quite some years.
