The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha said this while addressing the President and members of the Evangelical Church of Winning All (ECWA) who called on him at the Government House, Owerri.

Owelle Okorocha noted that the nation was facing a challenging period especially in the areas of insecurity and religious differences which he said could be surmounted through prayers and the fear of God.

The governor who condemned the recent locking of the National assembly and the attendance incident which he described as ‘a show of shame’ called on the Federal government to reduce the political tension in the country to avoid future damages.

He also appealed to the PDP government to “remember that after power, we still have a nation called Nigeria.”

The governor therefore advised that the 2015 elections should be handled with caution so as to save the lives of many innocent Nigerians.

Okorocha welcomed the leaders and members of the ECWA church on the celebration of their National Convention holding in the State assuring them of God’s presence in a state founded on the words of God just as he prayed for their fruitful fellowship.

Earlier, the President of ECWA, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Gadu said they were in Imo State for their Convention, explaining that ECWA is a community of evangelical Christians who call for holistic ministry guided by the Holy Spirit to minister to the spiritual, social, and economic needs of mankind as well as promote godly living.

The cleric commended Okorocha for his magnanimity and open door policy and for providing good leadership that has touched the lives of Imo people and the poor across border adding that such kind gesture should be emulated by other political, traditional and religious leaders who are called to affect mankind positively.
