Ogene hails Umeh’s court victory

Victor Ogene, a member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has hailed the Appeal court ruling which affirmed Chief Victor Umeh as the legitimate chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The Appeal Court on June 18, set aside the judgment of Justice Abdul Kafarati of the Federal High Court, which had earlier sacked the Victor Umeh led National Executive Committee of APGA.

Ogene said the litigations against Umeh were not only diversionary but also a dis-service.  “Chief Umeh has worked very hard over the last decade to ensure the survival and success of the party. Thus, he should be supported and encouraged by all to complete his tenure in peace,” he said.

According to him, APGA chairmanship does not represent a political platform, but a movement and brotherhood of Ndigbo which should be guarded and guided jealously by all who believe in the true development of the Igbo race.

He said APGA, more than any other time, needs the commitment and dedication of everyone to consolidate on the recent gains of the party.
