Grumble in Aso Rock may put a wedge in the political dalliance between Anambra State Governor, Willy Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, of All Progressives Congress (APC).
President Goodluck Jonathan is said to be unhappy about it and may end his cozy relationship with Obiano for fraternising with a political adversary, Amaechi.
A source in Abuja said security report confirmed that emissaries of Amaechi, led by his brother in-law, Dozie Nwankwo, have been visiting Awka to hold discussions with Obiano.
Hawks in the Villa have reportedly advised Jonathan to move against Obiano but he has so far refrained because he does not have concrete evidence yet.
Jonathan has been working closely with Obiano since he assumed office.
Obiano was said to have visited him recently along with APGA National Chairman, Victor Umeh, facilitated by Emeka Offor, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State.
Jonathan included Obiano in his trip to Israel for this year’s pilgrimage, and Obiano has endorsed him for a second term.
