The Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, today, September 13, led members of his cabinet on street rally against the directive of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafria (IPOB) for residents to sit-at-home every Monday.

IPOB also plans to enforce another sit-at-home tomorrow, September 14, in commemoration of the September 13 and 14, 2017 invasions of the home of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the killing of IPOB supporters by the military.

Obiano, while moving from street to street in Awka, advised residents to ignore the directive from IPOB.

He said: “The state must avoid giving urchins the chance to take over the helm of affairs. I chose to lead from the front to end this fear of molestation, harassment, intimidation,” the governor said.

Skeletal business activities were noticed after the governor’s rally, including transportation, banking and trading.
