“…Nnia, I didn’t know that you are so idiotic,” says Anambra Governor

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State seems more desperate to support President Muhammadu Buhari from his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) base than those in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he has taken on his kinsman, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, over recent endorsement of Atiku Abubakar by Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The latest development from the Oriental zone of Nigeria is that Governor Obiano called the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nwodo, on phone shortly after the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was adopted by Ohanaeze to refer to him as an idiot.
The Igbo apex socio-cultural body on Thursday boldly endorsed the Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi ticket and asked the Igbo to vote for them come February 16.
Ohanaeze said the endorsement became necessary because the PDP had shown readiness to restructure Nigeria and that the party had also demonstrated readiness to consider the Igbo in inclusive government at the centre.
It seems the endorsement did not appeal to Obiano who has been working underground with some people for Buhari and against Obi.
“Nnia, I didn’t know that you were so idiotic,” Governor Obiano reportedly started in his conversation with Nwodo which TheNiche was privileged to have.
The communication went thus: “Your Excellency Governor Obiano, I was shocked to receive a call from you a few minutes ago in which you said the following words “Nnia”, I didn’t know that you are so idiotic.”
“I am shocked you can be so insolent. I am sure that I was not so idiotic when I addressed your state Assembly asking Ndi Anambra to disregard the IPOB boycott of your election nor was I idiotic when I pleaded with the Commander-in-Chief to restore your security details.
“History will judge who amongst us is idiotic. If standing with the popular wish of Ndigbo makes me idiotic, I am happy to be called an idiot. I will make this communication public so thatIgbos will know who is idiotic between both of us.”
