Obi saw human rights lawyer, Farotimi at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre located along Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti

Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi on Monday evening reportedly visited renowned legal icon and senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Afe Babalola in his office in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.
Upon arrival, Obi was warmly received by a top aide of the founder of the Afe Babalola University, who subsequently ushered him in for a closed-door meeting.
According to The Nation, the meeting which was arranged by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo is aimed at finding a solution to the ongoing defamation case preferrred against human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi by Babalola.

it was also learnt that the former Anambra State governor seized the opportunity to visit Farotimi at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre located along Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti.
Obi’s visit to the popular activist is a follow-up to the earlier meeting with Babalola which lasted over one hour.
Farotimi was arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti last week after he was accused of defamation of character in his book, ‘Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’ where he alleged, among others, that Babalola, compromised the Supreme Court.
