Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, today led thousands of his supporters in a road walk to the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), venue of his mega campaign rally.
Different groups and supporters of the Labour Party Presidential candidate marched on foot from most parts of the state to the TBS.
Obi himself joined the road walk, albeit in an open van, commencing from Alaba International Market where he earlier addressed his supporters of the need to vote him in the February 25 presidential election.
The Lagos rally is one of the biggest the Labour Party has held since the commencement of the presidential campaign on September 28, leading to gridlock in some routes in the state. This provoked a reaction from the spokespersons of the Bola Tinubu campaign organisation, Bayo Onanuga, who fumed that the Obidients, as Peter Obi supporters are called, disrupted traffic in the state.
He said via his Twitter handle @Onanuga1956: “Peter Obi and his supporters are doing a road walk in Lagos, causing massive traffic jam on the ever busy Lekki-Epe expressway. His rally is at TBS on the island. But he chose to cause discomfort to Lagosians. An uncivilized way to campaign in our city.”
The rally was spiced by the duo of Psquare who performed one of their hit songs, Jaye, at the rally amid cheers from supporters who filled every square space of the venue.
