Obi is like Obama, and Obasanjo may campaign for him, says Osuntokun

A political revolution that overcame all odds and made Barack Obama United States President in 2009 and gave him a second term in 2013 is in the offing in Nigeria in 2023 to shake off “the rotten status quo” and power Peter Obi to Aso Rock.
This is the view of South West Labour Party (LP) leader Akin Osuntokun who compared the support base of the LP presidential candidate with that of Obama.
Osuntokun, who was a political adviser to Olusegun Obasanjo in the Villa, disclosed the former President may also be supporting Obi.
“I think so,” he said when asked on Arise TV if Obasanjo is supporting Obi, former Anambra Governor now with sights on becoming President in 2023.
“Where I am (Labour Party) is consistent with the position I have taken in the past two years. Logically I am being consistent with my position,” he explained when asked why he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the LP.
He said for the country to move forward, Nigerians must reject both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and PDP at the ballot box in 2023.

War against rotten status quo
Osuntokun insisted the agenda of the two dominant political parties is detrimental to national growth and development and the country needs to move in a new direction far away from a poor and disastrous agenda.
He enthused the 2023 election would be a determined war against the rotten status quo and the enemies of the Nigerian state.
“The kind of politics in Nigeria is disastrous. The political structure is criminal. It’s ambiguous that people clamouring for change are the ones labelling those ready to work for such change,” he said, per The PUNCH.
“APC and PDP are known for crass insensitivity. They are coming with similar baggage that has matured in our fraudulent political system.
“In terms of evaluation from what is good and moving Nigeria forward, you cannot proceed from the platforms of APC and PDP.
“These parties aren’t consistent with what Nigerians need. So it’s only right to move away from the rotten status quo in the interest of the country.”
