The chairman of Cubana Group, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, has kicked off the construction of a road in his hometown Oba in Anambra state.
The road under construction is the Afor Oba Old Road.
The business magnate has been showered with praises on social media for his generosity.

One social media user, in praising Obi Cubana, gushes that “That’s the true meaning of his title ‘Okpataozuora’: He who makes wealth and spreads it around his entire community.”
Some social media users, however, expressed cynicism. “I appreciate his good intentions, but from my perspective, this is just political clout,” writes one social media user.
The 46-year-old captured the imagination of the Nigerian public when, in July last year, he threw what many have called a “lavish” funeral for his late mother.
The singer-songwriter and social activist Onyeka Onwenu, writing for Premium Times, said that “The burial of Obi Cubana’s mother was not only lavish, it was obscene and insensitive.”
Since the funeral, the business magnate has had brushes with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), getting arrested over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud.
Meanwhile, Obi Cubaba’s wife, Ebele Iyiegbu took to social media to gloat about the performance of their first son, Alex who kept thumping his mates in mathematics on Wednesday.
Not only did the young man come second in a mathematics competition in the whole school, he came first in his class and is also one of the top 20 highest point holders.
