Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has joined his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to condemn recent allegations leveled against President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
He expressed his feelings on the matter in a statement he made available to reporters recently.
The Labour Party chieftain was reacting to allegations by the factional National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Atiku Abubakar Isah, that Seyi Tinubu abducted and tortured him after he refused to accept a bribe he offered him.
Atiku following the revelation, also alleged that Tinubu’s son attempted to disrupt the inauguration of the NANS leadership in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by dispersing the crowd with thugs.

Reacting to the development, Obi said the “troubling” allegations, if true, “raises critical questions about the independence of student leadership and the subtle erosion of young voices in our democracy.
The former Anambra governor went on to state that Nigerians must strive for a country where youths can speak freely and judges can serve with dignity.
Speaking via the statement, he said, “Nigeria’s youth should not feel coerced, silenced, or absorbed into political agendas that do not reflect their will.
“The oppression of young voices, whether through force, patronage, or intimidation, is a dangerous path that we must not normalize.
“We must return to Nigeria where justice is done and is seen to be done without theatrics or abuse.
“A country where youth can speak freely, judges can serve with dignity, and institutions act responsibly. That is the Nigeria we must rebuild”.
