The Regent Afa of Okeagbe, HRH Princess Temitayo Ajayi nee Fajana has described her late father, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana as a man of honour, humble and kind-hearted individual who lived a fulfilled life.

Speaking on the final burial rites of Oba Oladunjoye Fajana which will commence on November 22 to 26th, Princess Ajayi noted that plans are on to celebrate the royal icon, a Paramount ruler who lived a life of service to humanity.
“Yes, we are going to celebrate the life of our father that was well spent. We love him. He was a principled man; he was brave. He was a man of peace,”
“Now that Daddy is no more. I encourage those of us he left behind to keep his virtues and sustain them. There is no doubt that we have lost a mentor, friend, a protector, a prayer partner and a father”.
The regent also acknowledged the role played by her later father in ensuring that the traditional stool of the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe was upgraded to a first class monarch in the state.
“I can write a book about my father if given the opportunity”. Oba Fajana was a courageous monarch and dogged fighter whose ideology revolved around enhancing the welfare of our people.
“He preached unity at all times, fought for what he believed in, and was always willing to offer valuable advice, drawing from his wealth of experience”.
The regent described Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, PhD as a man of truth whose tenacity of principle was well demonstrated by his independent disposition with the way he ruled the community to attain greatness.
She further described him as a stabilising force and a source of inspiration for all Okeagbe people who looked up to him for guidance.
It was gathered that the burial activities will kick-off on Wednesday 22nd November, 2023 with candle light procession starts at Ajuwa Grammar School, Oke Agbe by 4pm and later Traditional Salutation at Ajana Afa’s palace by 7pm.
Here are details about events in the run-up to the funeral as provided so far by the family and other royal officials. Thursday 23rd November, there will be Service of songs at Ajana Afa’s palace by 4pm
On Friday. 24th November, Celebration of Life Service at St. George’s church Oke-Agbe by 10am and then reception at St. George’s pry school field by 1pm
Other events are On Saturday 25th November, A presentation of kabiyesi’s legacies at St George’s church hall by 10am while a public lecture holds at the same venue by 12pm.
While on Sunday, 26th November, there will be Thanksgiving service at CAC Oke Ayo Afa Oke agba by 10 am.
