Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has said he and his colleagues “went for sightseeing” after Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier 2-0 win over Rwanda on Friday.
TheNiche had earlier reported that Nigeria revived their World Cup qualifying hopes after defeating Rwanda in front of a packed home crowd in Kigali.
The victory was the first for the Super Eagles away to the Wasps of Rwanda in three previous attempts as the other encounters ended in draws.
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, continued his fine form, opening the scoring with a composed side-footed finish from Ademola Lookman’s free-kick in the 11th minute.
He then doubled Nigeria’s advantage with a brilliant solo effort, winning possession at the halfway line before chipping the goalkeeper just before the break.
The win lifts the three-time African champions to fourth in Group C, behind South Africa, Benin, and Rwanda with five more games to go.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has advised his players to turn their attention to the game against the Warriors of Zimbabwe after defeating Rwanda.
“There is a second game on March 25th, so we need to be ready for this game,” the Malian said.
