Vítor Pereira has agreed to become Nottingham Forest’s head coach until the end of the 2025/2026 Premier League season.
The Portuguese tactician takes over at the City Ground from Sean Dyche, who was sacked early on Thursday morning.
The Englishman was dismissed after being held to a disappointing goalless draw by bottom-of-the-table Wolves on Wednesday.
With Pereira’s appointment, he becomes the club’s fourth manager of the campaign, arriving with a clear mandate to avoid relegation.
He follows Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche as manager of the Tricky Trees since the season began in September.

Although the club’s management is yet to officially announce the 57-year-old’s appointment, he is now set for another spell in English football, having been axed by Wolves in November after 11 months in charge.
He emerged as the preferred replacement due to his previous experience working under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Greek giants Olympiacos.
During a six-month stint there in 2014-15, he secured both the league title and the Greek Cup before departing for Fenerbahçe.
Pereira originally joined Wolves in December 2024; however, he was sacked three months ago with the club having picked up only two points from their first 10 league matches.
This came despite him winning 14 of his 38 league games and successfully keeping the side in the Premier League the previous season.
Forest are currently 17th in the Premier League, sitting just three points above the drop zone after securing only two wins in their last 10 outings.
