No Bra Day highlights cancer awareness every October 13, and not a day for erotic display of see-through clothing
The event is being observed annually to promote awareness of breast cancer symptoms and to encourage gender equality.
Some others have hijacked the day to post nude pictures of themselves not wearing a bra as a way of stimulating sexual desires in others.
Others have used the No Bra Day as a political statement to press for gender equality and women emancipation.
For another category of people, the No Bra Day offers them the opportunity of discarding what they view as a restrictive, uncomfortable garment.
The Wikipedia gives a background of how the No Bra Day came to be. That the No Bra Day was spun at a medical event in Toronto, Canada, to encourage breast cancer survivors to consider reconstructive surgery.
The event was named BRA, which is the acronym for Breast Reconstruction Awareness. That is, providing options for women who underwent mastectomy due to breast cancer to consider breast reconstruction.
Since then, October 13 has become known as an awareness day devoted to educating women about reconstructive surgery.
