NNPCL assures queues ‘ll disappear soon, announces date it will commence lifting petrol from Dangote Refinery

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has assured suffering Nigerians that the long queues seen in various filling stations across the country will disappear in the next few days.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the company’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, which noted that the Executive Vice President of Downstream of the company, Adedapo Segun made the claim while speaking on TVC News’ “Journalists’ Hangout” show on Thursday,

NNPCL also set September 15, as the date it would commence lifting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise called Petrol from Dangote Refinery.

The company went on to say that it is currently engaging relevant authorities to ensure the products that are allocated to petrol marketers don’t get diverted

Segun during the chat also made it known that NNPCL was working with the September 15 timeline provided by the 650,000 barrels per day Lagos-based refinery.

According to him, NNPCL is collaborating with marketers to “ensure that stations open early, close late, to maintain adequate fuel supply to meet the needs of Nigerians.”

He added, “We are also engaging relevant authorities to ensure product diversions are prevented and timely deliveries to all stations are ensured.

“The scarcity should ease in the next few days as more stations recalibrate and begin operations.”

His comments came as fuel scarcity continued to persist nationwide despite the recent hike in price of petrol.
