Nnamani shocks Lagos spectators with thrilling athletic performance

Nnamani says “For the first time, I run this time (46:66), I will continue to work hard with my coaches hoping that more Competitions will be available.”

Quarter miler (400m) from Anambra State Johnson Chidera Nnamani went under 47secs for the first time last year, racing to a then PB of 46.97secs.
But at the 2nd AFN All-comers competition at Yaba Tech sports center on Friday, he improved on that time, running the fastest time he has ever run in the 400m, posting a new PB of 46.66secs to win the men’s 400m Final A. He was over the moon.

Ironically, Nnamani’s name was mistakenly omitted from the starters list for the finals A race, but for
the timely intervention of team coordinator popularity known as Chi-Boy, Nnamani would have missed the.race.


Before the 400m finals, the athlete had gone to relax among his peers obvious that he would not run, until a timely announcement brought him back to the tracks.

TheNiche learnt that if Nnamani had warmed up properly, his time returned would even be better.

The athlete however said after the race that his desire is to keep improving as long competitions are made available.


“For the first time, I run this time (46:66), I will continue to work hard with my coaches hoping that more Competitions will be available.”
My target is to use athletics as bread winner in my life, If I’m selected for the Africa Senor Athletics Championship in Mauritius I would be glad because any competitions would be an opportunity for me to improve”


The athlete was however grateful to US based AFN board member Victor Okorie for his benevolent spirit for making him excel this far.
