NLC confident plot to scuttle LP advance will be resisted

Any plot to scuttle the advance of the Labour Party (LP) especially now that it is enjoying wide acceptance by Nigerians will be resisted, vows the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which owns the party on which platform Peter Obi ran for President.
The resolve was announced on Monday when the NLC leadership visited the national secretariat of the LP in Utako, Abuja to show solidarity with embattled LP National Chairman Julius Abure amid tight security.
NLC National President Joe Ajaero, who led the delegation, promised to fish out those who want to weaken the LP by plunging its leadership in crisis following an Abuja High Court interim injunction restraining Abure from parading himself as National Chairman.
Based on the court order, LP National Vice Chairman (South), Lamido Apapa, assumed the chairmanship in an acting capacity.
But Ajaero told workers at the LP secretariat that the party was borne out of frustration over the conduct of Nigerian politicians, and there is a procedure to follow before any change of leadership.
He stressed that under no circumstances would the labour movement allow anyone to derail the LP it worked hard to reclaim from impostors, per reporting by The PUNCH.

Fayose says APC having sleepless nights over Obi’s popularity
Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, says Peter Obi’s growing popularity at home and abroad is giving the All Progressives Congress (APC) sleepless nights despite claiming to have defeated the LP presidential candidate at the ballot box on February 25.
Fayose said the level of reception accorded Obi by Nigerians in the diaspora makes the APC feel he is still campaigning, having seen a video of him being received by Nigerians abroad.
“They are wondering what kind of man is Peter Obi, how can a perceived loser be receiving this kind of treatment for free?
“This is why they are not comfortable, having sleepless nights, saying Peter Obi is a threat to them and democracy,” Fayose wrote on his Facebook page.
“How can someone going about his normal activities be a threat to APC if not that they are not at rest, they have no peace of mind.”
