Head of Waru Community in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Isuwa Kura, on Friday, appealed to Nigerians to avoid violence during the forthcoming elections.
Kura told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that it was important Nigerians opted for peace as it was ideal for building a better nation during and after elections.
According to Kura, most of the electorate have all collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from Kabusa without complaint.
“We have counseled them on peaceful coexistence and how to avoid violence during the elections.
“The electorate is ready to vote and we have also asked our Chairman to provide security for us during the elections.
“As Nigerians, we should look forward to fruitful elections. Let us do it well and pray that nothing bad happens’’, he said.
Mr Yohana Koche, Head of Kabusa community, said its residents had been advised to avoid violence and ensure that peace reigned during and after the polls.
According to him, the members of the community are aware that peace should prevail during elections and they are ready to ensure successful polls.
“I wish Nigeria well in the forthcoming elections; let us all come out en masse to vote leaders of our choice.
“Ours is to ensure that members of the community vote for candidates of their choice for the development and well-being of the country.
“Members of the community have no issues with the collection of their PVCs as almost all of them have their cards ready and are prepared to vote their leaders’’, Koche said.
