Nigerians not visitors in South Africa, it’s their home, says Julius Malema

Julius Malema however says that westerners are visitors in South Africa despite their being nationalized in the rainbow country

Radical South African politician and a parliamentarian, Julius Malema, has condemned xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa.

Julius Malema is a Member of Parliament and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters, a South African political party, which he founded in July 2013.

Julius Malema has been consistent in condemning mob attacks against other Africans in South Africa.

On Feb. 17, The South African police announced the death of a Nigerian, Nicholas John after attacks on foreigners by South African gangsters.

Julius Malema, in a speech, said: “We came from one country called Africa. South Africa is Africa. We are one country called Africa.

“As a westerner, you are using South Africa as a refreshment station. you are not here to settle, you were passing and because of our Africanese and the spirit of Ubuntu, we have embraced you and share our land with you and we have accepted that you have nationalized in this country. But it doesn’t change the fact that you came here as a visitor.

“But for Nigerians, Ghanaians, all other countries should not second guess or even for a second doubt themselves when they are in South Africa. This is their home. This is our home.

“This South Africa was imposed on us. We didn’t come from anywhere and no African come from anywhere and Africa is a nation, and this is our continent,” he said.
